Daniel R. Goodloe letter, 1857 June 17.

This autograph letter (signed) from abolitionist Daniel R. Goodloe was sent from Washington, D.C., on June 17, 1857, to an unidentified recipient. The letter regards acceptance of a religious fund collected by abolitionists and its use by the Unitarian Society "for the support of a pro-slavery gospel," as well as the politics of slavery within the church.

Abolitionist Daniel R. Goodloe (1814-1902) was a journalist and Republican politician from North Carolina. He published the anti-slavery tract Southern Platform in 1858.
